In recent years, Guangdong Institute of new materials has carried out research and application of thermal spraying technology, vacuum coating technology, laser and processing technology, analysis and detection technology in the fields of aerospace, ocean engineering, advanced manufacturing, rail transit and other fields around strategic emerging industries and national major projects in Guangdong Province, and has undertaken more than 150 scientific research projects, More than 300 kinds of coating products have been developed and applied in engineering, forming a certain influence at home and abroad.

Scientific research institutes are an important source of urban intellectual support, which is of great significance to promote the development of urban industry. Guangdong new materials Co., Ltd. has established cooperative relations with many enterprises in Foshan, such as Midea, Liansu Group, Guangdong Wanlian, Nanhai DASONG, Shunwei precision, etc., in the fields of hydraulic ceramic machinery, manufacturing of key components of packaging and printing equipment, home appliances, 3D printing, etc., and the key components of the industry have reached the international advanced level through batch application, and some equipment has been exported to developed countries.

In this context, in December last year, Guangdong Institute of new materials, together with the Management Committee of Foshan high tech Zone and Nanhai Park Administration Bureau of Foshan high tech Zone, jointly built Foshan Taoyuan advanced manufacturing research institute and Foshan advanced manufacturing innovation center (hereinafter referred to as "innovation center") of Guangdong Institute of new materials. Zhou Kesong, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, is the honorary president of Taoyuan Research Institute, and Dai Mingjiang, director of Guangdong Institute of new materials, is the president.

"The purpose of Taoyuan Research Institute and innovation center is to accelerate the implementation of scientific research projects of Guangdong Institute of new materials, promote the innovation of advanced manufacturing technology and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and promote the rapid transformation and upgrading of Foshan's manufacturing industry." Zhu Huichao, executive vice president of Taoyuan Research Institute, explained.

Talking about the meaning of the name "Taoyuan" of the Research Institute, Zhu Huichao told reporters, "there are two reasons. One is that the road where the research institute is located happens to be called Taoyuan road. Incubate science and technology enterprises, small coatings become "big climate"

Because Taoyuan Research Institute is an institution and has been registered for a long time, it was officially established after Yueke new materials. But in terms of their relationship, Yueke new materials is an incubator of Taoyuan Research Institute. " Zhu Huichao explained this origin.

Since its birth, Yueke new materials has focused on thermal spraying and vacuum coating, laser manufacturing, cold spraying and other coating technologies, which are mainly used in aerospace, oil drilling, automobile industry, packaging and printing machinery and other core key components of high-end equipment, and can give the material surface heat resistance, corrosion resistance, anti adhesion, wear resistance and friction reduction and other special properties.

Spraying technology of corrugated roller

"For example, the same coating is applied to the roller of lithium battery pole piece. Many enterprises only apply one coating. Due to the particularity of superhard materials, the coating is easy to fall off under high pressure rolling. We adopt the method of plating two layers of coating on the roller of lithium battery, one layer of dense and superhard material is used to solve the problem of wear resistance, and the next layer of coating with better toughness is used to solve the problem of coating shedding. " Zhu Huichao said that at present, the coating technology of this double-layer structure has applied for a patent.

"Compared with the traditional coating, our high-performance coating can improve the service life of key parts several times or even ten times, reaching the domestic leading and international advanced level." Zhu Huichao revealed that Yueke new materials has also developed a variety of coating technologies, which have been widely used in packaging and printing, advanced manufacturing and high-end equipment, forming a variety of high-tech products such as corrugated roller and anilox roller.

At present, Yueke new materials has established a R & D team with Academician Zhou Kesong as the technical leader and Zhu Huichao as the leader, with 13 middle and senior technicians. One year after its establishment, the company has a sales volume of 30 million yuan. It is expected that the sales volume will exceed 50 million yuan in 2021 and reach 100 million yuan in three years.

"60% of the company's business is oriented to Foshan, where there is a large demand for high-performance coating products for high-end equipment. Coupled with Foshan's policy support, good service of High-tech Zone, perfect supporting facilities and convenient transportation conditions, the market prospect is broad." Zhu Huichao said.

It's not spring to be alone. In addition to Yueke new materials, another project incubated by Taoyuan Research Institute is also worth mentioning - cold spraying project, which was led by Dr. Huang Renzhong and other four doctors who came back from Japan, France, Canada and Singapore.

"Cold spraying technology is an emerging technology, and it is also a cutting-edge technology in the world. Dr. Huang's team has made a great breakthrough in the military research of cold spraying in the Provincial Research Institute, and now the project is settled in Taoyuan Research Institute, mainly to expand the civil research of cold spraying." Zhu Huichao explained that the project has been supported by the provincial basic application major special project, and Yueke new materials is also a participating unit. At present, the cold spraying team is establishing a company in Foshan in an orderly manner.


Cooperation of industry, University and research to carry the "Foshan intelligent manufacturing"

"Taoyuan Research Institute is first positioned as the carrier of achievements transformation and application incubation of Guangdong Institute of new materials, transferring some scientific and technological achievements in the Institute to Foshan for transformation. What Taoyuan Research Institute should do is to help these scientific and technological achievements get through the last kilometer of market application." Zhu Huichao thinks.

At the same time, some technologies and projects with industrialization prospects are incubated in Taoyuan Research Institute, including providing equipment, personnel and other scientific research conditions, product trial production and technology promotion. Industry university research cooperation is a concept that Taoyuan Research Institute has been practicing. In the first four months, Taoyuan Research Institute has carried out industry university research cooperation with leading equipment manufacturing enterprises such as yizhimi, Liyuan Hydraulic machinery and Baode technology.

"For example, heyizhimi has carried out in-depth cooperation and Research on the key components of injection molding machines and die-casting machines, such as screws and indenters. In view of the new requirements of environmental protection and degradable plastic injection molding for key components of the equipment, mainly corrosion and wear, a layer of cermet coating is prepared on the screws and indenters. Through analysis, research and laboratory verification, Now a small number of computer tests have been carried out, and the effect is still remarkable from the existing results. In the next three years, the goal of Taoyuan Research Institute is to build a scientific and technological innovation research platform with reasonable talent structure, outstanding scientific research achievements, strong attraction to scientific and technological innovation team, and important influence in China.
